Literacy week 9-10

Hello everyone today I am going to be showing you what we learnt and did for the past 2 weeks of literacy.

The first task I did was watch a video but I can’t upload it here because the video apparently cant load up. (also forgot the title of the video)

The 2nd task we did was read a text about the people that made plastic surgery a thing. The people who made plastic surgery were Harold Gilles and his cousin Archibald Mclndoe. We then had to answer the questions that were from the text. Then we had to do a audio recording of me reading the whole text and a video of me highlighting the text.

Reading the whole text audio

Highlighting the important sutff

The third task was to complete a vocabulary document that had words from the text. Including words like reconstruction, rehabilitation and more.

Here is the vocabulary task I completed.

The last task was to read an article about plastic surgery (the teacher read it to us at the end)

Here is the link to the article.
https://plasticsurgery.org.nz/about-us/about-plastic-and-reconstructive-surgery/
The one task that I found challenging to do out of all of them was probably the recording because sometimes I would mess up and some times I would not record it an say the whole thing.

The one task I found easier was the vocabulary doc because I’m pretty fast at typing so it was really easy for me to find the definition and synonym of the word.

That’s all I did for literacy for the last 2 weeks!

Do you think you know how to be safe online?

Hello everyone, my name is Alyssa and for Cyber smart we have been learning about how to be safe online. I am going to be showing you the 2 Google drawings I have been working on.

The first Google drawings is named Check me out which you have to do an example of what to post online that is safe. For starters make sure you don’t spread too much detail, for e.g  you shouldn’t post things like this ,your address, password, full name, credit card number and more.

The 2nd Google drawing I did is called Public vs Private what you had to do was move the private things into a vault and the public on the other side.

(Reflection)

What I found easy about Check me out was the writing.  Especially for the question (what  would you do with 1 million dollars)

What I found easy about private vs public was everything, it was pretty easy.

What was hard about check me out was taking a picture of myself (I don’t like taking pictures) and for Private vs Public nothing was hard.

Where I got the information from-

I got the information of what to do on the tasks from Cyber-smart challenges, they have videos that show you and explain to you how to do the tasks.

Here is the video that helped me learn what to do for the task Check me out.

Here’s the video for Private vs Public that helped me too.

Sources: These videos and Mrs.Tozer.

Did this teach you about what should be private and public?

What is matarki?

For those who don’t know matariki here is what it is about.

Dna base pair

Today we learnt about DNA in science. For the task we had to make a DNA base pair out of lollies and then calculate it.

6cm- 1 base pair x 3000000000=18000000000 / 100 000 = 180000 km

Heres the image of our DNA base pair.

thank you for your time Have a good day bye.

Reflection week 7

Today I’m going to be reflecting on this week.

What went well this week and why?: Woodwork because I finished the undercoat on my chair, as I know I need to do that to get the top coat to stick.

Something that challenged me this week was: Tiny house- Where things were and where to place them.

Was this something I was able to control? Explain: Yes because I could watch other people to see how they do it and ask for help.

One new thing I learnt this week was: Months in Māori for example Hune is June and Mai is May.

My goal for next week is: To finish painting my chair
